What Are We Looking For?

What are the criteria for submissions is very broad
This initiative is designed to help a sector that is vital to the economy but has been hit badly by the Covid pandemic.

At Realise, ‘innovating’ is an essential part of our culture. We know there is a wealth of ideas just waiting to be released. And the great thing is, even if you don’t win one of the main prizes, you still have a chance to see your idea become a reality.

So, whether you are working in the events industry, are studying the subject, are a regular visitor to events, or simply have an idea, we’d love to hear from you.

How Does The Competition Work?

It’s simple. Prepare your idea, explaining it as simply and clearly as you can. You might want to write a short proposal in Word, or storyboard an idea in PowerPoint. You can even make a video, but you'll need to host this on a separate platform and upload only the link with your submission.

By the way, once it’s been uploaded, you’ll be able to share your idea with your own network, allowing them to review it and vote for your idea. The number of votes received will be one of the factors the judges will consider.

So, when you’re ready, complete the fields below and then click ‘Submit your idea’ to upload your idea on the competition page.

After you’ve submitted your entry, you’ll receive an email to confirm it’s been accepted. That email will also contain the URL for you to share with your network, so they can vote on your idea. The level of feedback will also be used when it comes to awarding prizes, so don’t hold back!

And yes, you can enter more than once. In fact, you can enter as many times as you like!

But there’s also another opportunity for entrants. All the entries will be reviewed by our panel of judges and there may well be another opportunity for you to make your idea a reality. At that point you can choose to give the idea away, sell it, ask for a share of future returns, or think about seeking further investment and taking the idea to market (or any combination of those things.)

So, get thinking, and good luck!

12R prizes are run by the Twelve Ronnies Foundation whose mission is to harvest new ideas which solve problems that have an economic or societal benefit. We believe the best way of harvesting ideas is by offering prizes to encourage idea generation. Showcasing your ideas is often the best way to get feedback and support, however if parts of your idea are confidential, we recommend that you store and share the confidential information about your idea in a safe place such as the ideasvault.co.uk. The vault storage allows sharing as required, rather than bringing the idea into the public domain.
